About Jamie
Jamie Stauffer, owner and principal designer of Stauffer Design Co., knows firsthand that our homes have a huge impact on the way we live, how we raise our families, and even how we feel on a daily basis. Her transformational approach to interior design is just as focused on editing the wrong items out of a design as on bringing the right items in. Rather than following trends, keeping up with everyone else, or trying to mask pieces and styles that aren’t working, Jamie creates complete designs that reflect her clients’ stories, making their lives easier and more joyful. The results are personal, relaxed spaces where her clients feel they belong and where they can truly be themselves.
A note from Jamie
Being able to create homes that feel authentic to my client’s personalities means so much to me today because there was a time when I wasn’t content in my own home. I was just starting out in life and creating a home for the first time. I was massively overwhelmed by rapidly changing décor trends and the pull from big box stores to keep buying it all. Then eventually came the clutter and overwhelm of being a young mom, as well. It took me years to realize that my home had become reflection of how discontent I was in many areas of my life. Something had to change. I realized the first step was to pare down my life and my obligations to include only who and what were most important to me.
I went through every room in my home, throwing things in boxes to give to charity or in the trash. It was all pretty, but I didn't like any of it. It wasn't me. It didn’t make my house feel like my home and it needed to go. When I was finished, I looked around and realized that what I had left were the things that really mattered to me. Something in me shifted that day and I was able to do the same to negative relationships and other areas of my life that just weren’t working.
Through the process of changing my home, I figured out who I am at my core, which also ended up totally changing my life. I launched Stauffer Design Co. because I believe everyone deserves a home that lets them show up as who they really are. By starting ‘from scratch’ and expertly curating items that bring the right characteristics to the space, I help my clients transform how they live.
